Diagnosis: Severe lumbar stenosis requiring major revisional surgery
Treatment Plan: Continue to work on strength and balance with increased exercise in Pilates classes and review as necessary.
Michael has significantly improved since I saw him last and has tolerated a visit to South Africa although he found the aircraft seating uncomfortable.
Clinically he has much improved strength and balance so that he was able to walk through the clinic without the need for a stick, which he still has for uneven ground or when he is on his feet for along time.
Balance has certainly improved and I can't fault him in terms of neurological function in the lower limbs.
His wound is well healed and radiologically his lumbar spine is on excellence position with very good signs of solid fusion and Michael does not need
my care on a regular basis now but he certainly knows where to find me if anything crops up for which my advise would be useful.
